Devario apogon, known commonly as the Giant Danio, is a lively shoaling fish that requires ample swimming space due to its active nature. They are best kept in groups of six or more to mimic their natural behavior and prevent stress. Dense vegetation interspersed with open areas in the tank promotes natural behavior. They are not aggressive but may exhibit fin-nipping tendencies if not kept in proper shoals. Their diet can include high-quality flakes, small live foods, and frozen foods like daphnia or bloodworms.
