Pethia erythromycter, commonly known as the Odessa Barb, is a popular aquarium fish known for its vibrant red coloration, especially in males. It is an active swimmer and thrives in a well-oxygenated tank with moderate water movement. A peaceful community fish, Pethia erythromycter does well when kept in groups of at least six. Planting the aquarium with bushy plants and providing open swimming spaces can replicate its natural habitat.
