Somileptes gongota

The Indian Hillstream Loach, Somileptes gongota, is a small, peaceful freshwater fish known for its distinctive coloration and patterns. It thrives in well-aerated tanks with substantial water flow, replicating its natural habitat. This benthic species often scavenges the substrate, feeding on biofilms and small invertebrates. They are best kept in groups as they exhibit shoaling behavior and interact with conspecifics. Plants and smooth river stones are recommended as they mimic their natural environment.
