Sinogastromyzon tonkinensis is a fascinating stream-dwelling loach known for its ability to cling onto rocks in strong currents. It has an elongated, flattened body perfect for navigating fast waters. Their specialized mouthparts allow them to scrape algae and biofilm from surfaces. In aquariums, mimicking their natural habitat with a strong, consistent water flow and a substrate of smooth rocks is ideal. - They are peaceful and can be kept in groups. - Provide hiding spots with rocks, driftwood, or PVC pipes. - These fish appreciate a diet of algae, biofilm, and high-quality sinking wafers. - Due to their need for specially maintained conditions, they are often kept by more experienced aquarists.
